Clown Triggerfish

Renowned for its striking coloration, the Clown Triggerfish is a highly coveted addition to many home aquariums. In the wild, this species lives along both the inner and outer sections of reefs, wherever shellfish and other invertebrates are plentiful.

Though exceptionally colorful, the Clown Triggerfish is also one of the more aggressive species commonly kept in captivity. As a result, selecting tank mates requires caution; ideally, other similarly large and assertive fish. Likewise, aquarium decorations should be sturdy or arranged in anticipation of the Clown Triggerfishs tendency to move objects around.

Their diet must be varied and high in protein, featuring foods such as squid, krill, clams, small fish, and hard-shelled shrimp. These tougher foods naturally help to wear down their continuously growing teeth.
